It’s always exciting being able to capture each moment from behind-the-scenes to on stage.

My name is Whitney Curry, I am a photographer under the moniker GhostGirl Productions.
For the past 10 years, I have photographed live cosplay events at conventions such as ColossalCon East, Zenkaikon, AnimeNext, CastlePoint Anime Con, & Otakon. Recently, I attended FanExpo Philadelphia and photographed their Masters of Cosplay Competition.
My coverage includes Masquerade / Craftsmanship competitions, IdolFest, & Variety Shows.
-
Often times, if the cosplayer participating does not have a loved one in the audience that is able to photograph/film their moment, they might only have the official recoding from the convention to showcase their time on stage.
When I cover these live events, I provide all the edited photographs to the participants and the convention for free with the approval to use the photos for any personal and/or professional use with credit/tag.

Cosplayers believe it is important to receive stage photos because…
-
“Most of the time, my friend group is going on stage with me, so it’s really hard to get good photos.”
-
“It’s epic!!! And it shows candids and action shots which we never get!”
-
“So I can post them and show the photographer the love they deserve!!”
-
“To show off all the hard work I put in. To prove that I have steadily improved over the last several years and just for my own happiness.”
-
"The quality of professional photos allows all the cosplays to be viewed in impeccable detail, which makes all the hard work and detailing that went into those costumes visible to those who may not have gotten to see them up-close."

“I love seeing photos of myself and others performing live. It helps me see what I can improve in future performances and reminds me of the joy I felt while performing.”
